As we stand on the brink of a massive AI boom, the question on everyone’s mind is whether Artificial Intelligence is safe for use. The growth of ChatGPT – 4 has shown some alarming developments in recent times that have left everybody concerned. The recorded responses of AI machines have even shown indications about human replacement, which can have serious implications if they are not handled right away; and hence, power industry influencers like Elon Musk have advised against developing present AI system without fixing these faults.
Having said that, it would be a great disservice to stand in the midst of such a revolutionary breakthrough and not act. My brief experience in the IT industry has taught me that it is can never be wise to completely halt the progress in technology because of a few setbacks. Although I agree that safety concerns regarding Artificial Intelligence should not be ignored at all, we must also look at how AI will change the world dynamics for the better. Not only will it lead us towards a futuristic healthcare system, it will also add wings to the finance sector.
It is no secret that AI systems will surely show improvements in the future for more accurate results; and when that happens, human progress and welfare will only be limited to our imagination. AI can also make accurate weather predictions and can thus be a in protecting the human race from potential calamities and save lives.
At the end of the day, we have to ensure that the world does not become dependent on AI, at least before we have built tangent safety measures around it; and parallelly, we must also continue improving and investing on Artificial Intelligence and not put it to a grinding halt.
